Advanced Study
Information for Incoming Fellows
The Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study looks forward to welcoming each year’s class of residential and graduate student fellows. Each spring, following the selection of the next year’s fellowship class, incoming Fellows will begin to receive detailed information that assists them, before their arrival, with an understanding of the Institute and necessary preparations for their fellowship period. To assist Fellows upon their arrival and during their first days at the Institute, the Institute provides a checklist of various steps to complete and University units with which to coordinate to assure that all operational issues have been addressed completely. The first week of the fellowship includes an orientation and other first week activities, such as a special campus tour, meetings with Institute staff, and a dinner for fellows and their spouses. As NDIAS Fellows, each individual is invited to participate in the rich academic life of the University of Notre Dame, which includes numerous public lectures, panel presentations, films, interdisciplinary programs, workshops, seminars, and other programming. The campus and the community life of the Institute and the University also provides opportunities for a number of cultural, fitness, and recreational activities and events for Fellows and their families.
