Undergraduate Research Assistant Info Sessions

Undergraduate Research Assistants2018-2019 Undergraduate Research Assistants

The Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study invites undergraduates interested in applying for its Undergraduate Research Assistantship (UGRA) Program to attend one of the UGRA Program Information Nights:

Tuesday, April 16, 5-6pm
Wednesday, April 17, 5-6pm
Main Building 303

These sessions will feature presentations from current research assistants about their own experiences in the Program and its academic and professional benefits. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask current research assistants and administrators about the Program.

Food will be provided.

The UGRA Program seeks the most promising undergraduate students at the University of Notre Dame who wish to develop their research skills for the study of big ideas across disciplinary boundaries and to utilize their experience at the Institute as a model for their own training and scholarship. Selected students will work side-by-side with top scholars on questions that span the humanities, social and natural sciences, arts, engineering, and law. As the Program emphasizes research skill development, rising sophomores and juniors who intend to write a senior thesis and/or who are considering graduate school are especially encouraged to apply.

During their paid assistantship, selected undergraduate students will work closely with a major scholar in residence at the University of Notre Dame during the 2019-2020 academic year. Assistantships may be for one or two semesters. Research assistants also meet as a group on Friday as a group, for unique research training and programming. Apply at ndias.nd.edu/engagement/undergraduate-research-assistant-application/.

Questions about the program may be directed to Dr. Donald Stelluto, NDIAS Associate Director at dstellut@nd.edu.
