Dimensions of Goodness

A conference on the dimensions of goodness, hosted by the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study, was held April 4-6, 2011 at the University of Notre Dame. The conference focused on the nature of goodness and  various disciplinary and interdisciplinary questions raised about this elusive topic. The conference included neurobiologists, geneticists, chemists, psychologists, engineers, lawyers, economists, statesmen, philosophers, historians, theologians, literary critics, and business, environmental, and medical ethicists from some of the most renowned universities of the world as presenters and participants. Goodness is one of the three major values—beauty, goodness, and truth—that inspire the Institute.
