David Haungs is a junior pursuing a B.S. in chemistry and a supplemental major in political science. His research interests include organic and inorganic synthetic chemistry as well as constitutional and intellectual property law, especially relating to patents. On campus, David is a Sorin Scholar and works as a research assistant to Dr. Seth Brown, where he investigates the mechanisms and syntheses of novel transition metal complexes. He is active in Notre Dame’s Student Union, where he serves as president of the judicial council. Finally, in addition to pursuing independent legal research and writing, David is an associate editor of Beyond Politics, the University’s undergraduate journal of political science.
