Melissa Osorio is an economics major with a minor in Latino studies. On campus, she has been sharing her Latino culture by being involved with RitmoND and Baile Folkorico (Latin dance groups where she performs in cultural events). Additionally, she is in Jenny Padilla's Latinx Adolescents, Siblings, and Families Research Lab. She is also associated with First Gen Student Government. Her research interests include the connection between patriarchy and the violence of women in Latin America. She is passionate about researching how women are affected through the inequalities they face in Latin America.
