Athena in Action: A Networking and Mentoring Workshop for Graduate Student Women in Philosophy brings together a group of graduate students with a group of women faculty mentors for three days of substantive philosophical discussion and professional advice sessions. Participants benefit from getting to know the other talented graduate students and the faculty members, and from hearing the mentors’ advice on topics of interest to women in the profession.

Co-hosted by Rutgers, Princeton, Cornell, and the University of Notre Dame, the workshop will take place at Notre Dame from June 24-27, 2024. It will bring together twelve faculty mentors and about 40 graduate students in philosophy, drawn from a range of schools, PhD program stages, and areas of interest.

On behalf of Notre Dame's Philosophy Department and the College of Arts and Letters, Meghan Sullivan is the organizer of the 2024 Workshop. Meghan is the Wilsey Family Collegiate Professor of Philosophy and the Director of the Notre Dame Ethics Initiative and the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study (NDIAS).
