Assistant Director of Communications

Laura Moran Walton is the Assistant Director of Communications. In this role, she develops and executes strategic communications for both NDIAS and the Ethics Initiative.

Prior to this position, Laura served as vice president of communication and public relations for 17 years for the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, working with staff, donors, nonprofit grantees and community partners to advance the Foundation’s initiatives and programs. She has also held other positions in other campus departments over the years, including Notre Dame Press, DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, and ND Communications (now ND Creative).

Laura has a BA in English Literature from Grinnell College and an MA in the same field from Notre Dame, with a focus on eighteenth-century British literature. Born in South Bend, Laura has a deep sense of connection to the community. She volunteers with and supports multiple local nonprofits including South Bend Civic Theatre (backstage, not onstage!) and the History Musuem. She and her husband Jack (ND ’93) have two very wonderful (and very loved) daughters.
